Select cockpits can be opened based on docent availability and discretion. Open cockpits are an additional experience that may not always be available. Our aircraft are historical artifacts, and as such, cannot always withstand the traffic of an open cockpit experience. We do have a selection of model cockpits that are located throughout the Museum and can be accessed without docent assistance.
Standard admission allows visitors to see all exhibits and aircraft within our three main hangars. Other add-ons, such as the Redbird Simulator, are available at an extra charge. All experiences subject to change. Restrictions may apply.
We require a government-issued proof of service. This includes a valid Department of Defense ID card, Veteran Health ID card, Veteran ID Card (VIC), DD-214, or a Veteran designation on a state-issued driver's license or ID. The Veteran discount does not apply to dependants.
Yes! There are less than a dozen aircraft located outdoors at any given time. We like to refer to the outdoor exhibit as our "Restoration Park", as the aircraft stored there are generally awaiting preservation and are not fully restored. The outdoor area is weather dependent and is closed for the winter months.
We partner with a selection of local libraries to provide reduced admission for visitors. These passes must be checked out through the library, which will provide either a physical or digital pass for a specific day. Passes can only be used once per day per library. Passes are not valid on special events such as Open Cockpit Days and Space Expo. Please visit our events calendar for more info.
Photography & Filming
With a number of rare and one-of-a-kind aircraft in the collection, the New England Air Museum and its grounds are heavily photographed. Casual photography for personal use is always encouraged. We
invite and encourage all photography of this type to be shared with us on social media as well!
Our Photography Policy
All forms of photography and filming are permitted for private, non-commercial use only. Photographs cannot be published, sold, reproduced, transferred, distributed or otherwise commercially exploited without the written permission of the New England Air Museum. This permission will be granted by the President & CEO or their designee. Commercial photography does include, but is not limited to, wedding or engagement photography, senior photos, professional portraits, portfolio photography for personal websites, modeling, media, and images for resale in any form including calendars.
If images originally intended to be for personal use are to be sold to, or printed for use in, a publication museum approval must be sought and granted before the image may be used in this way. Arrangements must be finalized before the sale or publication date, and fees may be assessed as appropriate.
Media and aviation publications may request special materials, including images of the aircraft in flight, from our files to illustrate stories.
There is a lot happening here at NEAM!
Explore Upcoming EventsOur facilities are spread out over three hangers and multiple floors! In addition to the exhibits, restoration hanger, and flight simulators, we have a small dining area with vending machines offering snacks and beverages. (Prior arrangements can be made for large groups.) There are also picnic tables in our outside yard available in fair weather.
A variety of restaurants can be found on nearby Route 75.
A large parking area for persons with disabilities is available close to the entrance.
Wheelchairs may be checked out at our admissions counter. There is a powered wheelchair subject to availability. The Museum is situated in three large exhibit hangars which are easily navigable. Our hangars have large walkways, with the majority of the exhibits on the first floor. Wheelchair-accessible elevators are located next to each mezzanine.
