The New England Air Museum offers an array of exciting programs for Scouts including overnights, day workshops, and group visits.



The New England Air Museum offers a variety of interdisciplinary field trip options for students in grades PreK-12 from October through June. All programs are designed to meet state and national curriculum frameworks and encourage critical thinking through inquiry-based instruction.



The New England Air Museum's SOAR for STEM program provides students in grades 3-8 with a unique, three-part STEM educational learning experience thanks to generous funding provided by local foundations, corporations, and private gifts.


Our Inspiring Future Aviators Program encourages young people to pursue careers in aviation by providing local high school students with behind-the-scenes access to the New England Air Museum and the Bombardier Hartford Service Centre in Windsor Locks, CT.


Homeschool families and co-ops are welcome to book School Program group visits or participate in special Homeschool Day events.

Fall 2022-Spring 2023 Homeschool Days:

Monday November 14, 2022: Aerospace Adventures: Meet Dr. Flush, NEAM's resident expert on all things space; and practice your aerospace engineer skills with our Straw Rocket Challenge.

Monday February 6, 2023: Fixed Wing Flight: Meet an airplane pilot and demonstrate your flight science skills with our Straw Glider Challenge.

Monday May 15, 2023: Aviation Engineering: Meet an aviation engineer and practice your aircraft design skills with our Paper Plane Challenge.

Homeschool Day events include themed scavenger hunts, hands-on activities, and special open aircraft experiences. Homeschool Day programs run from 10:00am-3:00pm and pre-registration/pre-payment is required. Registration closes one week prior to each Homeschool Day event.

Fall 2022-Spring 2023 Homeschool Day Admission:

Adults (Ages 18+): $10 per person

Students (Ages 4-17): $20 per person

Children ages 3 and under admitted at no cost
