Join our Team! Hiring Public Program Facilitators

Hiring,

Do you enjoy working with children and families? Are you an outgoing person who thrives in a collaborative work environment? Are you looking for a fun and flexible part-time job? Join the Public Programs Team at the New England Air Museum!

As part of the museum's Education Department, Public Programs Facilitators provide visitors with engaging, hands-on experiences including activity stations, open cockpit access in historic aircraft, interactive demonstrations, and tours through our Flights of Family Fun programs. These programs are held on weekends and during K-12 school vacations throughout the year. Public Programs Facilitators also support Scout Overnight events held each fall and spring, as well as the museum's Aerospace Academy summer camp. Additional duties include supporting evening special events and private rentals, as well as offsite outreach programs based on staff availability.

Standard shifts are from 10:00am-3:00pm, with occasional evening/overnight shifts as needed. Public Program Facilitators work an average of 10-24 hours per month during the academic year and up to 30 hours per week during school vacation weeks and summer months. Prior experience working with children is required, as is an interest in aerospace history or science. Some college coursework in Education, History, Science, or a related field is preferred. This is a part-time, non-exempt position that pays $16.00 per hour, and Public Program Facilitators are expected to work at least two weekend shifts per month throughout the year. Additional weekday availability is required during K-12 school vacation weeks and the months of June, July, and August. This position is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of a background check.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis through March 1, 2024. Email cover letter and resume to agparks@neam.org. No phone calls please. The New England Air Museum is an equal opportunity employer.
