NEAM Aviation Merit Badge Workshops provide Scouts BSA ages 11 and older with an opportunity to earn the Aviation Merit Badge Workshop in a single day through direct instruction and hands-on learning with our Merit Badge Counselors. Workshops are limited to 10 scouts per workshop, and the workshop is recommended for scouts ages 13 and older. Scouts must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop.

Workshop Schedule:

9:00am-12:00pm: Morning Session: Workshop

12:00-12:30pm: Lunch Break – Please bring a brown bag lunch to enjoy at the museum

12:30-3:00pm: Afternoon Session: Merit Badge Testing Appointments & Scavenger Hunts

Scouts will be free to depart with their signed Blue Card after completing the Scavenger Hunt and their Merit Badge Testing Appointment. Merit Badge Testing Appointments provide scouts the chance to share their knowledge of badge requirements with our counselors through casual conversation. Merit Badge Testing Appointment times will be reserved during the registration process and are available at 12:30pm, 1:00pm, 1:30pm, 2:00pm, and 2:30pm on the day of the workshop. Scouts who received partials will be able to retest later for no additional fee. 

Scouts should notify their scout leader of their intent to complete this Merit Badge in accordance with Scouts BSA policy, and bring a Blue Card signed by their scout leader to the workshop. We recommend scouts read the Aviation Merit Badge Handbook prior to the workshop. A digital copy will be provided after registration.

Aviation Merit Badge Workshop fees include general admission to the museum the day of the workshop. Workshop participants are encouraged to explore the museum after they have completed the afternoon session requirements.
