Museum Receives Grant Funding for New England Women in Aviation Exhibit
The New England Air Museum is thrilled to be the recipient of a generous grant from The Petit Foundation. The $10,000 contribution will support the expansion of New England Air Museum’s exhibit, New England Women in Aviation, and help to fund female-focused programming and STEM educational activities. The next phase of the exhibit is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
The exhibit’s co-founder, Peggy Loeffler, said, “We are deeply grateful for the support from the Petit Foundation. We appreciate this recognition of our work to educate young people and inspire curiosity and enthusiasm for science and aerospace. This support not only advances the Petit Foundation’s mission, but also honors the memory of the three Petit women.”
Since its opening in 2022, the New England Women In Aviation exhibit has attracted thousands of visitors. New England women have had critical roles in shaping America’s aviation and aerospace legacy. They overcame societal barriers, set and broke records, and risked life and limb to prove that they were just as capable as their male counterparts.
