A Heartwarming Reunion

NEAM’s Museum Educator Axel has been teaching our grant-funded SOAR for STEM school program for over twenty years. Today Axel was reunited with one of his former students. East Hartford teacher Kasidy stepped off the bus with today’s SOAR for STEM group and “instantly recognized” Axel, fondly recalling her own SOAR field trip to the museum in 2007. Kasidy was a fourth grader at that same school back then, and Axel was her SOAR for STEM program teacher. They are pictured here in our lobby after spending the day working together to support students as they explored the history, science, and technology of aviation.
