He was a retired educator with 34 years service.  He coached at Elkmont High School, Athens High School and coached football one season at Athens College. He was principal of Ardmore High School from 1954 to 1981. After retirement from the school system, he served four years as assistant director of the Alabama Beverage Control Board.

Thoughts on the 58th Bomb Wing:

He played three years on the Keesler Field (Mississippi) football team and one season with the Hawaiian Flyers at Hick am Field, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Comments:

Mr. Witt passed away March 31, 2003 and is buried at Antioch Cemetery in Elkmont, AL.
