Night at the Planetarium

Join Museum members for the program "The Planets of the Sun" on Friday, December 4th at 6:30 p.m. at Central Connecticut State University's Copernican Observatory and Planetarium in New Britain.

Explore the eight planets of our solar system and their major moons. Learn about
their surface features, their atmospheres, how much one would weigh on each planet, how long their days and years are, if they are hot or cold, why flipping real estate on Venus may have a literal meaning, the Martian canals and why the solar powered rovers on Mars can last so long. Gain a better understanding about Ceres and Pluto which are two of our solar system's dwarf planets that were both visited by spacecraft in 2015. The program will also identify the major constellations, bright stars, and what planets are visible on this night.
The program will last no more then 1.5 hours with extra time after for looking at the Planetarium sky. There is a fee of $5 per person to reserve a seat.
