Fred was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings including Bishop. He worked as an architect supervising many projects commercially and for the Church. He was called to serve a mission in the Philippines where he worked as a Zone Construction Supervisor.

Mr. Sampsel passed away December 22, 2002 and is buried at Mountain View Memorial Estates cemetery in Salt Lake City, UT.
