For many years, he was the proprietor of the Cleary Square Tavern in Hyde Park which he took over from his father. He was active in Democratic Party politics and was invited to the John F. Kennedy Inauguration in 1960. He built a cottage on Peggotty Beach in Scituate, which his family enjoyed for many years.

Mr. Weizel passed away January 30, 2012. He is buried at Veterans Cemetery, Palm Beach, FL.
