He was commissioned in the USAF Reserve in December 1950 and retired there as a Colonel in January 1981.

Post-WWII Civilian Occupation(s):

Graduated from Miami University in 1947, AB magna cum laude, and from the Harvard Law School in 1949. He was admitted to practice in Ohio in 1950 and in Arizona in 1961.


He retired from active practice in 1991, and he and Mrs. Fels now live nine months of the year in Phoenix and three months in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. He is a member of Phi Delta Theta, Phi Beta Kappa, Post 8 of the American Legion, Dept of Mexico, the Retired Officers Assoc., the Military Order of the World Wars, the Burma Star Assoc. and the Air Force Assoc.

Mr. Fels passed away April 14, 2013 and is buried at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ
