Thoughts on the 58th Bomb Wing:

Robert (Bob) believed that his service was important to him and the country. He didn't speak much of his military service other than to say he had been stationed on Tinian at the same time as the crew of the Enola Gay and that he was not bothered by thoughts of the targets of his bombs - it was war and he had a duty. His passion for the military and for planes and flying was evident throughout his life.

Comments:

Mr. Brettell passed away January 1, 1994 and is buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA
